Marineland and Zeus Learning Partner with LearningSoft on Supplemental Curricula for the Indigot Learning System
New partners add distinctive instructional content to system
Pembroke Pines, Fla. – Jun. 5, 2006 – LearningSoft Corporation, a hand-held computing and assessment company focusing on affordable technologies for schools, is partnering with e-learning company Zeus Learning and the world’s first oceanarium, Marineland, to add instructional content to the Indigo Learning System. Indigo’s wireless handhelds provide educators in K-8 schools with engaging interactive online content in mathematics, language arts, science and social studies, coupled with comprehensive assessments and reporting tools.
Marineland, LearningSoft’s sister company, is the oldest marine park in the world and focuses on dolphin conservation and research. The company will add marine biology content to the Indigo Learning System. “We are thrilled to partner with LearningSoft and grow the content within Indigo,” said Terran Rosenberg director of education. “Melding academic instruction with real-world issues such as how human interaction affects marine conservation means that students are properly prepared for life beyond the classroom.”
Zeus Learning will provide a supplemental math curriculum for elementary and middle students via Experios™, virtual experiments that allow learners to play with parameters related to a specific experiment and see the results instantly in real time. Students are presented with a snapshot of a concept and then change various parameters to see the results. Finally, the Experio algorithmically generates a problem with randomly selected values for students to solve it. Students also have the option of asking for a real-time hint.
The supplementary educational resources from both of these partners take learning out of the traditional abstract experience and bring a whole new relevancy to instruction,” said David Cole, chief executive officer of LearningSoft Corporation. “The more children see their subject matter as dynamic or having real-world impact, the more engaged they become.”
